Assess your parking area, electricity demand and options for EV charging.
Read guide →What to check before choosing a home EV charger: your vehicle, electrical supply, connector and installation location.
The power rating on a charger does not mean every vehicle will charge at that rate. For AC charging, the vehicle’s onboard charger also limits the power it can accept. Check the vehicle specification before comparing 7, 11 and 22 kW products.
Ask a qualified installer to assess your supply, switchboard, available capacity and cable route. Higher-output AC models may require a three-phase supply. The location of the parking space and distance from the switchboard also affect the installation scope.
Match the connector to the vehicle and the exact charger configuration being supplied. Type 2 options are listed in Shakra Energy’s AC range, but a product family may offer several connector variants. Confirm the supplied variant when requesting a quote.
Consider whether you want a tethered cable, a display, network connectivity or charging controls. Check the chosen model’s actual features rather than assuming every product in a range has the same connectivity. Discuss your normal parking time and daily driving with the supplier.
Think about cable reach, access to the vehicle’s charging port and keeping walkways clear. Indoor and outdoor installation requirements differ; the installer should confirm suitability for the location. Portable DC equipment should not be assumed interchangeable with a home AC wall charger.
Browse the EV charger range and send your vehicle make and model, suburb and installation location through our contact page. Include any existing solar installation so it can be considered in the discussion.
